She has a particular specialism in civil claims for damages for unlawful immigration detention and in applications for judicial review of unlawful immigration detention. Amarjit has an excellent record of achieving very good result for clients and is very highly regarded for her work in these areas.

Amarjit has a lot of experience in all areas of immigration and related public law. The cases she takes on are usually judicial reviews including: challenges to negative trafficking decisions where there is no right of appeal,  fresh asylum and human rights refusals without a right of appeal, certification of asylum and human rights claims, asylum support challenges, refusal of naturalisation and other citizenship applications, delays by the Home Office in making decisions, challenges to length and type of leave granted.  

She is also very experienced in relation to nationality issues, especially concerning children.

Amarjit is an accredited Senior Caseworker and Supervisor under the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Accreditation which means the Law Society is satisfied that she has particular expertise and knowledge in this area of law.

She also deals with judicial review and damages claims under Legal Aid as the firm holds the relevant Legal Aid contracts for these areas.
