Prominent human rights and mental health lawyer Lucy Scott-Moncrieff CBE, who founded Scott-Moncrieff and Associates, has been honoured by the students of London South Bank University at their recent 'Inspired by Law' event.

Lucy is amongst eleven inspirational lawyers and human rights defenders from around the world honoured by the students. Other award winners include Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, Diana Nammi and Professor Akua Kuenyehia. All eleven are being recognised for their inspirational work and will be founding members of a new permanent gallery opened at the University.

Lucy says: "I was delighted to be chosen for this award by the law students of London Southbank University, especially as I am in such illustrious company. I hope that the award and the gallery do indeed inspire young people to enter the law to continue the fight for justice and fair treatment under law."

The exhibition of photographs and written profiles of the eleven people inspired by law has been curated by the University's students, recognising 'people who have an outstanding record of contribution to the advancement of social justice, human rights and the rule of law often in the face of considerable adversity.'
