Mark was educated in Paris and London before graduating in medieval history at King's College, University of London. He subsequently read law at University College London. He is fluent in English and French.

He qualified as a solicitor at Simmons & Simmons in 1991 and worked at major City firms in both Paris and London developing his expertise in commercial litigation and arbitration.

He has conducted several reported cases in the Court of Appeal (Civil Division). Mark adopts a commercial approach to litigation and dispute resolution, and his long experience enables him to strike the right balance between making a robust advancement of his client's position and reaching a pragmatic settlement.  He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
