Katarzyna Podkowik is a qualified Solicitor–Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience (Civil and Criminal) Qualifications. Katarzyna is also a member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Panel.
Katarzyna is an experienced advocate and specialises in mental health and human rights law. Katarzyna has extensive experience of both forensic and civil cases and represents many restricted clients. She also has experience of pursuing Judicial Review for her clients.
She represents mentally disordered offenders detained in various maximum and medium secure hospitals and patients detained under the civil provisions of the Mental Health Act 1983, in cases ranging from Tribunals, Hospital Managers to attendance at Care Programme Approach meetings. Katarzyna is also a fluent Polish speaker and specialises in advising, assisting and representing Polish nationals.
Katarzyna has also several years of experience as a supervisor and provides training courses and lectures for hospitals and charitable organisations.
