Irène Solomon graduated with a first class LLB (Hons) from Birkbeck College (University of London) in 2006. She completed the Legal Practice Course (Public Legal Services Route) at the College of Law the following year with commendation.

She joined Scomo as a trainee solicitor in September 2007 qualifying as a solicitor two years later.

Irène's interests lie in human rights and particularly in the interplay between detention and the power of the State. She has pursued her interests by volunteering with Liberty and Mind, gaining experience in a range of areas such as mental health, housing and welfare benefits.

Irène is a member of the Public Law and Prison Law Units. She is developing a specialist practice regarding legal issues pertaining to detained children. She works closely with the Howard League.
