Hilary Freeman qualified in 1979 and has worked as a family lawyer since then specialising in cases involving children and particularly care and adoption proceedings. She has worked for local authority child care departments and, before joining Scomo in 2008, she was a partner at Nelson’s in Nottingham where she ran
the family department for 10 years.

Hilary is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and Mediation Panel and has practiced as a mediator since 1998. Hilary is currently based in Cornwall and is able to act for clients in the West Country in both care and adoption proceedings.
