Helen Jones was admitted as a solicitor in 1995. She has worked as a salaried solicitor, been a partner in a small legal aid practice and since 2004 has been with Scomo.
For many years she specialised in prison law cases and was chair of the Prisoners’ Advice Service during some of that time. She is now a member of the Public Law Unit. Her current interest is in public law challenges relating to the treatment of particularly vulnerable prisoners e.g. trans-gendered prisoners, the elderly, the mentally disordered, and prisoners, who for whatever reason, need complex release plans in order to obtain parole.
A substantial part of her working week is taken up in performing the role of Practice Manager at
Scott-Moncrieff.
